Super Simple All-Purpose Disinfectant

Remember when I said we had to start somewhere? Let's just go ahead and start at the very beginning. While this is not technically a cosmetic, it's a way to jump into making your beauty routine green. This will give you a clean surface to start with whether it's making your own cosmetics in the kitchen or applying them at your bathroom vanity.

Recipe:

  • Vinegar

Yes, that's it. In place of harsh bleach or other caustic kitchen and bathroom cleaners, use some vinegar in a spray bottle; it's nature's disinfectant. It may sound crazy, but just give it a try and see how well it works.

Another variation on this is a recipe that, though not natural, is a gently clean option:
  • 1 Part Vinegar
  • 1 Part Dawn Dish Detergent
Combine ingredients in a spray bottle and shake.
